If your neighbour is putting steel beams into a party wall (a wall shared with you and your neighbours) then their work is likely to come under the Party Wall Act and they will need to serve a Notice. If your neighbour is not building within 3m of your property it is unlikely that their building work comes under the Party Wall Act but in some instances excavations within 6m of a neighbouring property falls under the Act. If you are unsure please contact us

If your house is not attached to your neighbours then when they convert their loft or do any structural alterations within their home it will not cause any damage to your property and therefore their building works do not come under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996
